Abuse, Recovery, and Moving Forward

I know I've disappeared, but I'm still alive.
I've been recovering from Depression and getting out of an abusive relationship. It's been a rough couple of months, with extreme ups and downs, but life is normalizing now. It took a lot of therapy sessions to come to terms with the abuse and its results, but I know now that I will never open myself up to that sort of treatment again.
I'm feeling better than ever. I've been able to get back in touch with who I was without the abuse, and it's great! A huge weight is off my shoulders, and I finally feel like I can move forward.
Unfortunately, the whole thing has really taken a toll on my productivity, but I have been able to apply to a ton of places. It seems as though I have a job lined up, and I'm super excited about possibly working as a concept artist in the near future. My WIGI mentor seems to think that I'm likely to get hired, so things are looking up.
I was also offered a position as a Graduate Assistant at a college where I could get a free Masters in Japanese! All tuition paid! That would be amazing!
Anyways, I hope to have some new refreshing artwork up here soon, but I've been super busy with other aspects of my life. <3

Greetings from Japan!
Chances are, I probably miss you! I hope you are all doing well.
I'm trying to get into using Corel painter to do some painterly things. It's incredibly frustrating because I'm not very good at it. So.
If you guys know good resources, artists, etc. to reference for study, please let me know!
Other than that, living in Japan is great. Classes are fun, and the kids are very genki. My English is deteriorating, though. It's a trade, I guess.
Keep on' rockin' in the free world.

I'm signed up for all sorts of traditional Japanese art classes, included but not limited to:
Calligraphy
Pottery
Sumi-e
Woodblock
FYI: I was accepted to the JET Programme in April, and I now teach English to 12 year olds in Japanese elementary schools.
As a result, my Japanese has improved exponentially. I now speak Japanglish quite fluently.
